Teacher Professional Development

A surefire way to sustain arts education at a school is to increase the staff’s confidence and comfort in teaching the arts and integrating them into the curricula. Teacher Workshops come in all shapes and sizes, from a one-shot, hands-on experience in a specific art form to a customized series that explores deeper curriculum connections. Teachers can work with an artist before a residency to learn about what their students will be doing or after to reflect on student outcomes and extended learning. Teacher Workshops can take place after school, in lieu of a staff meeting, on an in-service day or before the school year begins.

Young Audiences offers a variety of practical, hands-on opportunities for educators to learn about the arts, create art, exchange ideas with peers and take what they’ve learned directly back to the classroom.
