Overview

CORE COURSE (October-December 2021 and April 2022)

These are days of intensive study to help align artistic practices and teaching practices. Some days will be hosted on Zoom, and some will be in-person meetings in various cities.* Daily work will include presentations, panel and group discussions, and some work outside of the group meeting. All posted times include an hour lunch break.

*Subject to change as necessary for COVID safety. Arrangements for accommodation and meals will be made for any days in which participants travel outside of their home city.

COHORT MONTHLY MEETINGS (December 2021–March 2022)

This will be a time to reflect on concepts from the core course and further develop your teaching practice in a peer-lead community setting. Zoom meetings will be set up for the cohort to direct their conversations and learning between core course meetings. Specific topic areas may be suggested for each meeting.

STUDIO TEACHING RESIDENCY (voluntary by proposal, January–March 2022)

Members of the cohort propose an area of their work in the TA Studio to research and develop further. The intended result will be the development of a new (or revised) lesson plan, and the opportunity to test it on a group of young learners. These teaching artists will receive one-on-one mentoring with mentors from the TA Staff, as well as feedback on one of their classroom days.
